Guardian Location Selection

The installation location of the Guardian is the most important factor in threat detection and is dependent on the primary threat that the project owner or partner intends to detect.

Example: If logging is the primary threat and the partner considers chainsaw activity a priority then we recommend positioning Guardians up to 1.5km away from expected detection sites. (This means the location must be 1.5km within the borders of the private or protected area the guardians are located in to ensure the alerts/incidents are coming from the targeted area so the rangers will not be dissuaded from reacting or patrolling due to it 'not being their jurisdiction').

If you are installing a cellular device then choose an area with strong network coverage.
